Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

Trajectory collects and processes information you provide to help you navigate your career journey. This includes:

  • Account information — email address, name, and authentication credentials (email/password or Google OAuth). Used to create and secure your account.
  • Resume content — uploaded files (PDF/DOCX), pasted text, or LinkedIn-generated resumes. Stored in your account so you can access and reuse them across sessions.
  • LinkedIn profile data — when you provide a LinkedIn URL, we import your public profile information (name, headline, experience, education, skills) via a third-party enrichment service (Netrows). This data is cached in your account to avoid repeated lookups.
  • Job posting content — URLs or pasted text of job descriptions you analyze. Stored alongside your session history so you can revisit past analyses.
  • Session history — your gap analyses, Q&A conversations, generated resumes, email intros, and LinkedIn outreach notes are saved to your account. This allows you to continue where you left off and review past sessions.
  • Supporting documents — any additional documents you upload (interview transcripts, call notes, cover letters) are stored in your account.
  • Contact information — phone number, address, and website URL if you choose to add them to your profile for use on generated resumes.
  • Usage data — request logs (IP address, timestamp, response status) retained for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and service improvement.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your content is used exclusively to:

  • Parse and structure your resume.
  • Analyze role alignment and identify gaps.
  • Generate a tailored resume and application answer drafts.
  • Export your resume as a DOCX or PDF file.
  • Maintain your account and session history so your experience improves over time.
  • Provide personalized resume recommendations based on your accumulated profile context.

We do not use your resume content to train AI models, for advertising, or for any purpose beyond generating your requested output.

3. Third-Party AI Processing

Trajectory uses the Anthropic Claude API to process your content. Your resume and job posting text are sent to Anthropic's servers to generate AI outputs. Anthropic's data usage is governed by their Privacy Policy. We use Anthropic's API under a commercial agreement, which means your prompts are not used to train their models.

Supabase — our database provider. Your account data, resumes, session history, and profile information are stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure. Supabase's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy.

Netrows — used to import LinkedIn profile data when you provide a LinkedIn URL. Only your public LinkedIn profile information is accessed.

4. Data Retention

  • Your account data, resumes, and session history are stored as long as your account exists.
  • You can delete individual resumes, sessions, or supporting documents at any time from your profile and dashboard.
  • To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at team@trajectoryguide.com.
  • Anonymous usage logs are retained for up to 30 days and then automatically deleted.

5. Cookies

We use authentication cookies (set by Supabase) to keep you signed in across sessions. These are strictly necessary for the service to function. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

6. Children's Privacy

Trajectory is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Your Rights

  • You can access, update, or delete your personal data at any time through your Profile page.
  • To request a full export or deletion of your account data, email team@trajectoryguide.com.
  • We will respond to data requests within 30 days.
